Add your name to support energy efficiency in Florida

One of the easiest ways to reduce energy waste and greenhouse gas emissions is to set higher efficiency standards that ensure utilities are generating, transmitting and using energy in the most efficient way possible. Unfortunately, Florida is using extremely outdated efficiency standards that it has failed to update for almost 30 years.

Our energy efficiency standards are so antiquated that no other state uses them. We are trailing behind the rest of the country, and, as a result, our planet and our pocketbooks are suffering.

I want Florida to update flawed and outdated economic screening practices and create a rulemaking process that promotes energy efficiency in our state rather than discouraging it. It's time for us to catch up to the rest of the country and embrace the cleanest form of energy there is: the energy we never use in the first place.
